SpadeClub is not for everyone..

Recently joining SpadeClub has been an experience, but I'm not sure it's for everyone, and I'm sure it's not for me. Playing with points, instead of dollars, makes it very hard to take the game seriously. It makes it very hard to think out decisions, play correct poker, correct position, reading betting patterns, opponents, using all the mechanics and tools of trade of the game I love and hate. My results so far, out of 14 days and 14,000 points, I have two blue tokens and zero points (other than the 1,000 free daily reload). In both games I won tokens, I can't say I played well. I can only say I chipped up early and held on the rest of the way.

Play is slow, dreadfully slow, I can't handle how slow it is. I am also a firm believer no one else takes the game seriously either. Coming off another loss where a player called a 4x raise, pot bet. pot bet, all-in with nothing but ace ten high. In other words, 600 chips preflop, 1,200 on the flop, 2,400 on the turn, and 1,800 on the river.  No pair, no draw, nothing but ace ten high. I have to believe if money was on the line, this simply would not happen. After seeing 3rd reraise push with 77, and watching it crack AK suited and pocket Q's, I think I'm done with SpadeClub. Not because of the bad beats, that happens everywhere live and online. It's because there are no thinking players (that I've played against anyway), and if everyone is level zero and you have to wait an hour for each sit n go to start, it just doesn't fit my lifestyle.

Gave it a shot, renewed one month, and that's it for me. Interested if anyone else had a different experience that I should consider before cancelling. Blog it! :)
